Devonian GAMES
Hello and welcome!
Named for the Devonian Era and creatures thought extinct, we’d like to think that we’re a rare find too. A well-funded little indie studio trying to make high-quality, good-looking games with fun and interesting mechanics. Like games used to be made in the past.
You won’t see AAA blockbusters from us, but you won’t see a product full of microtransactions and gacha mechanics either. The world has enough of those already, and that’s just not our style.
Our first title is called Storm Jumpers: A long and perilous journey to repair an old and cantankerous machine. Or something like that. It’s a multiplayer adventure where you guide a team of characters through a weird and challenging world. Imagine a blend of Kenshi and Rimworld that you can play with one or two friends in a beautifully rendered Unreal environment.

Why Work at Devonian?
Great question. Lots of reasons. One, we’re well funded, two, we’ve built companies before, three, we’re working with some real cool features in Unreal 5, and four, we believe in profit sharing with our employees.
Our founders are two brothers who have always been into fun, clever games. One was an engineer, the other was a medical researcher. And while some people adopted Covid puppies, well, we sorta picked up the Unreal Engine and started messing around with it.
That has grown into a small team of artists and coders working in several countries around the world, with good tools and solid devops support. We use Perforce, so you press submit, we press the build button, and your changes get pushed to our internal steam build and automatically sent out to our playtesters in 30 minutes or less. Like a pizza. But different.
We believe in setting boundaries and in a healthy work-life balance, and saving our energy for actual emergencies, not self-made crises of bad planning. We’re also not beholden to any publisher, and we’re not part of some sprawling massive company. We set our own deadlines and decide what goes into the game and what doesn’t. That’s it. It’s that simple.
If you want to get in on the ground floor of a new company and new original games, well, there’s your button right there…
